- How can I contact Village Press Publications?
Toll Free in the U.S. and some parts of Canada call (800) 447-7367; outside of the U.S. call (231) 946-3712. Customer Service Representatives are available Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST and Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST. Email anytime service@vpconnections.com. Our offices are closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas day.
Customer Number
- What is my customer number?
Your customer number is a unique number assigned to your account. This number will be useful when contacting us with inquiries or when visiting our website. Your customer number appears on all mail pieces you receive from us. If you cannot locate it, please contact us.
Changing My Contact Info
- How can I change my mailing address? Phone number? Email address?
Your contact information can be updated:

Log in / Password
- I forgot my password. -- or -- My password does not work.
First try "Forgot My Password". The email address that you enter in this form must match the email address we have on file. You will receive a temporary password via that email address. If it does not match, you will not receive the "Forgot My Password" email. If this is the case, you can contact us to reset your password.
- I created an account on the BBS forum, but am unable log in.
Once you create an account for the BBS forum you will receive a confirmation email with a link. You need to click on this link to complete the registration process.
- Why do I need two accounts -- one for BBS and one for Online Store?
The system requires separate accounts be created: one for the BBS foum and another for the Storefront for security purposes.
Online Storefront
- I did not get an email confirmation for my order. How can I confirm it went through?
Please check your SPAM or JUNK folder. Additionally the email address we have in our system for you may be incorrect. Contact us and one of our Customer Service Representatives will make sure we have the correct email on file for you.
Subscriptions
- I paid for my subscription and then received an invoice. How can I check that my payment was received?
Invoices are typically printed around the 25th of the month and sent around the first of the next month. The invoice may not arrive in your mailbox until the middle of the month. The invoice and the payment may have crossed in the mail. If in doubt, contact us.
- When does my subscription expire?
You can check online at My Subscriptions. If you have any problems finding your expiration date contact us.
- When will I receive my first/next issue?
There are standard mail dates for each publication, those dates vary depending on which publication and its schedule. Your new issue should arrive within the first week of the month on the cover date. If you do not receive the issue by the middle of the month contact us.
- How can I get a replacement issue for one I did not receive?
If you have not received the current issue by the middle of the month, contact us, and we will send a replacement issue to you.
- How can I renew my subscription online?
Go to My Subscriptions. There you can choose how long you would like to renew your magazine for and checkout online. Renewals are only available online when two or less issues remain on the subscription. If there is no option to renew, then your subscription is not ready to renew at this time.
- How can I send a gift?
If this is a new subscription, you will need to create an account for yourself. If you are a past/current subscriber, log into your account. Select the subscription you want to give as a gift and during checkout answer "Yes" to the question "Send As Gift". Here you can enter a personal message to be printed on a postcard that we mail to let the person know they will be receiving this magazine from you. Make sure to add the recipients address to this same screen and then complete the checkout process.
- How do I know which issues I have missed?
Contact us, and we can let you know which issues have been missed.
- Do you offer discounts to military or schools?
Village Press offers significant discounts to active military personnel and education facilities. Contact us to apply these discounts to your order.
Digital Back Issues
- How can I access digital back issues that I purchased?
"My Digital Purchases" lists all paid digital issues. Click on the link to view the issue you would like to read. You will be asked to re-enter your username and password to view.
- Can I purchase back issues in a digital format?
Yes! If there is a digital back issue available, there will be an option to "Buy Digital Issue" in the Online Storefront.
- Can I download and print digital back issues that I purchased?
Yes.
Digital Subscriptions
- What is the difference between Publication Archives and My Digital Purchases?
PUBLICATION ARCHIVES: If you are an active subscriber, you can view current and back issues of that publication. The issues are read only.
MY DIGITAL PURCHASES: Your previously purchased digital back issues are stored here and can be printed or downloaded.- Is the content of the print and the digital edition of an issue the same?
Yes, the content is the same, the delivery method is the only difference.
- How can I change my subscription from Print+Digital to Digital Only?
To change a Print+Digital subscription to Digital Only, simply choose the Digital Only option when it's time to renew.
Publication Archives
- What is the difference between My Digital Purchases and Publication Archives?
MY DIGITAL PURCHASES: Your previously purchased digital back issues are stored here and can be printed or downloaded.
PUBLICATION ARCHIVES: If you are an active subscriber, you can view current and back issues of that publication. The issues are read only.- Can I download and print archive issues?
No. Sorry archive issues are read only. If you would like to download or print an issue, please purchase a digital back issue in the Online Storefront.
- How can I view the archive of the magazine I subscribe to?
Digital archives are available in the Online Storefront at the publication's Back Issues. If you are an active subscriber, you can view back issues by selecting "Read Online".
Back Issues
- How can I order back issues?
Some of our most current years of back issues are listed and available for purchase through the online storefront. For earlier copies you will need to contact us.
- When will I receive my back issue order?
Back issue orders take two to four weeks to arrive once they are mailed. Back issues mailings are processed only once a week.
- How do I find a particular article or a particular subject?
There is an online article index for each of our publications. First, go to the magazine's main website. The article index can be found under "Magazine > Article Index" or "Resources > Article Index". You can search by author, subject, or issue.
Product Orders
- When will I receive my book/product order?
Our product orders ship daily by media mail postal service unless expedited service is requested. Please allow seven to ten business days for domestic orders to arrive.
- Are videos available in DVD format and visa versa?
Please see product description at the Online Storefront.
- How can I find out if I already purchased this item?
Contact us, and we can find out which products you have ordered.

The letter/email that accompanied your no-obligation issue contains the web address and promotion code to take advantage of the Sweet Deal.

- What type of payments are accepted?
Village Press accepts checks and money orders, both of which need to be written in US funds, and credit cards - VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
- How can I pay for my subscription?
If you choose to purchase the magazine online, you can select the magazine you are wishing to subscribe to and proceed through the checkout process. If you have an account, simply log in and complete the checkout process. If you have not set up an account yet remember to have your customer number available for registration before completing the checkout process. If you have received an invoice:

Publication Content
- What is the difference between The Home Shop Machinist and Machinist's Workshop?
Both magazines contain articles that may be of interest to all skill levels. Our more advanced projects will be featured in HSM. Our longer articles will typically run in HSM and the shorter, sometimes simpler, projects will appear in MW. We will run non-machining type articles in MW. This can include but is not limited to subjects such as welding, forging, and casting as well as Steve Acker's Gunsmith Machinist column. MW will also carry gunsmithing articles from other authors.
- Do you have "Just Goldens"? Other breeds?
Our dog-related publications such as The Pointing Dog Journal and The Retriever Journal do feature a variety of breeds specific to the sport of pointing or retrieving. Our publication Just Labs is strictly for the enthusiasts of the Labrador retriever.
Email Communications
- The emails are not formatted correctly and/or are missing graphics. How can this be corrected?
By adding service@vpconnections.com to your contacts you should be able to view the graphics with the next email you receive from us.
- I would prefer to not receive Village Press Publications emails. How can I opt-out?
Please select the "unsubscribe" option on any of the email you have received from service@vpconnections.com. This option is be located at the bottom of the email.
